Kaishan-made, EU-certified

Since 2013, Kaishan has quickened its pace in the course of globalization, which means there will be higher standards imposed on low voltage cabinets suited for Kaishan’s exported screw expander generators. Knowing that some Chinese manufacturers are unable to meet requirements associated with technical barriers set up by Europe or America countries and that outsourced cabinets are neither cost-effective nor can they be delivered promptly or achieve standardized and intensive production, Kaishan Group has decided to produce cabinets by itself. The Group coordinated the production capabilities of electrical and metal plate factories and successfully set up production lines for non-standard low voltage cabinets. Since then Shanghai Kaishan Energy Equipment Co., Ltd. has been developing its capabilities in cabinets for four years and now is highly able to carry out electrical designs, and to design and manufacture metal panel structures for non-standard low voltage cabinets and standard Weitu cabinets. Our cabinets, whose protection class is in full conformity with world class, are extensively used for our direct expansion generators, gas compressors, centrifugal compressors, Organic Rankine Cycle expander power generation units, etc. The low voltage electrical control cabinets used in power project located in Budapest are our first cabinets that have passed EU certification.
Shanghai Kaishan Energy has undergone unprecedented challenges brought by the Budapest project in terms of delivery time and product quality. After 3 months of joint hard work by Kaishan Energy’s personnel from electrical design, metal panel structure design, electrical assembly, metal panel manufacturing, and quality control, the timely delivery of the 33 sets of low voltage electrical control cabinets for the Budapest project has been accomplished successfully. Documents issued in accordance with EU certification requirements, such as Factory Acceptance Test, DOC, CE certificates concerning electrical components, received unanimous good evaluations from EU experts.
What is worth mentioning is that Kaishan has independently designed and manufactured its first example of frame type cabinet and that modular manufacturing regarding electrical equipment installation, powered debugging, and power cable connection was done in Shanghai Lingang factory, saving a lot of cost in man power and time and creating operatable standard pattern for subsequent export projects. Personnel from Shanghai Kaishan Energy’s various departments, by participating in this project, have gained a lot of design and manufacturing experiences related to EU certification, which helps to boost employees’ confidence. The accomplishment in control cabinet design and manufacturing provides a base for future successful supply of complete set of low voltage equipment to the Group’s “one belt, one road” projects in the future.
